Our Wedding

Sometimes love arrives exactly when you least expect it — somewhere between delayed flights, long airport lines and a forgotten passport. In June 2021 our paths crossed at the airport in Jamaica, though neither of us could have imagined then how much that moment would change our lives. Greg was heading to Connecticut; Tasha was on her way to Las Vegas. Tasha, who has always hated long lines and feels anxious in crowded spaces, noticed the check-in queue stretching across the terminal. Determined to find another way, she spotted the first-class counter and asked whether her Priority Pass would allow access to the shorter bag-drop line. Standing nearby was a small-framed Rastaman she didn’t know. Before heading to the counter she asked him if he would mind watching her bags. He looked at her with amusement and asked, “So you want to go ahead of everyone in the line?” Without hesitation she answered, “Yes.” He smiled and agreed to help. The agent let her join the shorter line. Feeling victorious, she returned for her bags, thanked the stranger, and hurried to the counter — only for the agent to look down, then back up, and say, “This is not you.” To her horror she had grabbed her son’s passport instead of her own. In a frantic rush she called her friend Katherine, who raced through traffic with the correct passport just in time. Tasha barely made the flight as the boarding doors closed. Ironically, everyone she’d tried to get ahead of was already gone. Our flights connected through New York, and there again in the TSA line was the same Rastaman. Tasha told him the passport story; he listened with kindness and quiet humor. Before parting he said, “Maybe we should exchange numbers… in case you have any more bad luck in Vegas.” What began as a simple exchange turned into friendly WhatsApp messages after she arrived safely in Las Vegas. At first the conversations were polite and casual. Tasha, newly out of a difficult relationship, was cautious and uninterested in romance. Greg invited her to dinner more than once, and more than once she ignored him. But persistence — gentle, respectful persistence — has a way of opening doors. One day while messaging him she noticed his display photo had changed to an event flyer with one name: Nesbeth. Only then did she realize the quiet man from the airport was internationally renowned reggae artiste Nesbeth. When she asked why he’d never mentioned who he was, he said simply, “I didn’t want you to meet me as a star. I wanted you to know me as a person, without the frills.” Not long after, we went to dinner. Somewhere between the laughter, the conversations, the music, the faith, and the unexpected twists of fate… love found its way into the air. The rest, as they say, is history.

Tasha Manley brings warmth, generosity, and unwavering loyalty to everyone fortunate enough to know her. She consistently sees the best in others and encourages those around her to succeed. Greg Fitzgerald Nesbeth is an international reggae artist known for the hit single "MY Dream." A devout Rastafarian, he upholds his values with integrity and lives by four pillars: Determination, Dedication, Desire, and Discipline. Greg fell in love with Tasha the first time he saw her at the airport—struck by her presence and energy—and has since been a devoted partner, protective and steadfast in his care for her.

Karene Vaz-Griffiths and Tasha Manley met in high school at The Convent of Mercy Academy "Alpha", and have been close friends for over twenty-five years. Karene has supported Tasha through pivotal moments in her life and played a key role in helping her achieve the milestone of purchasing her first home. Though Karene now lives in Canada, the two remain closely connected and share a deep, enduring affection. Karene is consistently encouraging, steadfast, and an exemplary friend—qualities that make her a cherished Maid of Honour.

Michael “Mikey” Marsh met Greg in 2016 after a motor-vehicle accident that could have turned contentious; Greg’s calm, peacemaking response instead sparked a lasting friendship. Since then, Mikey has been a constant presence—appearing in Greg’s music videos, traveling with him as part of his entourage, and joining in personal and family events. Loyal, dependable, and unwavering in his support, Mikey is Greg’s right-hand man and honored to stand as Best Man.

Shauna Kay Griffiths is the bride’s youngest sister and a steadfast source of support. Raised alongside Tasha, she has demonstrated dedication and kindness through shared challenges, forging a close, resilient bond. Although Shauna Kay now resides in Canada, their relationship remains strong and deeply cherished.

Tasha Manley and Sanya Goffe have shared twenty-three years of close friendship that began at a party in Cave Hill. Drawn to Tasha’s free-spirited energy on the dance floor, Sanya introduced herself, and the connection grew from that night onward. They progressed together from faculty life to Norman Manley Law School in Jamaica, where their differing temperaments—Sanya’s reserved, organized caution paired with Tasha’s impulsive confidence—complemented one another. They have supported each other through many trials, offering comfort and resilience in equal measure. United by ambition, a dedication to justice, and unwavering drive, Sanya’s steady presence made her an immediate and essential choice as one of Tasha’s bridesmaids.

Sakani Nesbeth is the youngest of Greg’s five children. Affectionate and devoted, he looks to his father for guidance and support in every situation and has warmly embraced Tasha as part of the family. Close to Greg both in daily life and in major decisions, Sakani and Greg share an inseparable bond. Proud to stand at his father’s side, Sakani brings loyalty, warmth, and steady presence to his role as groomsman.
